About the Company
Dutch lion offers a unique vertical growing system for lettuce & herbs called MTSys (Moving Tower System. MTSys is the only system with positive impact on all costs drivers: land use, energy ánd labour. MTSys is suitable for use in both greenhouses and (more) closed environments depending on the local conditions. It brings a Lower Capex, lower Opex and better ROI than vertical farming.Because the system only uses 10% of the space comparing to MGS or Deep water culture the (challenging) environment can be better controlled against lower costs. So lower investment (Capex), lower Opex, less land usage and ensures a more controlled output/yield.
Regarding the business case for the client, naturally, we can handle various locations and climates worldwide in our calculations. We've developed our own climate software for this purpose, and we can also test crops in the demonstration at the World Horti Center Naaldwijk , The Netherlands.
We work B2B with investors, developers and greenhouse builders. We are a systems integrator, solution provider for those who want a higher yield/m2 against lower costs. When land is less available or local climate requests a more tailored solution, we can work together on this.

Main Exhibit Items
MTSys (Moving Tower System) is an overhead monorail with vertical growing towers. These are provided with automated spacing between the towers which are adapted to the growing stage of the plant. This ensures a minimum of space needed. Each Tower will be equipped with a dripper and the irrigation water will be collected at the bottom and re-used. Ventilation between the crops is essential and will be done by calibrated hoses between the crops. MTSys makes use of the natural light when available and compliments this with use of LED which ensures a homogeneous growth of the plant.
The whole system can be automated with trolly’s for transport back and forth to the service area, automated harvesting and cleaning.
The system can handle most lettuce and herbs and in the future strawberries.
